How Viv's Schoolhouse Found Its Next Chapter
Like every parent, Joan wanted the very best for her children.
When it came time to choose a preschool, she visited more than 20 schools, determined to find one where her children would be known, challenged, and genuinely cared for. She even enrolled them in the schools she believed were the best available.
Yet every school fell short in one way or another. Some felt too commercialised, while others provided a nurturing environment but lacked the strong educational foundation she was looking for. None reflected what she believed a preschool should truly be.
Joan began exploring the idea of starting her own preschool. But with the regulatory hurdles involved and her eldest already progressing through preschool, she looked for another path: an existing school whose values matched the learning environment she had envisioned.
That search led her to Viv's Schoolhouse.
It wasn't simply a preschool; it was a close-knit community where children's well-being came first, families were genuinely supported, and learning was meaningful. When Vivian decided to step away to focus on personal matters, she offered Joan the opportunity to continue what she had started.
Four years ago, Joan took over Viv's Schoolhouse. While she introduced thoughtful refinements, she preserved the dedicated team and the philosophy that had made the school so special.
